Collecting Vespa Scooters Information

Monday, December 6, 2010

Vespa is one of the oldest known names in scooters, in part because of their long run in the industry. The name Vespa is translated into'wasp' in English, which was what the original body style resembled. Many Vespa scooter models still made have similarities to the original body design, but still lots of other designs have been made through the company.
the littlest and least strong Vespa Scooters have fifty cc engines while the biggest and most dynamic engines from Vespa are 200 cc. Vespa scooter engines of every size in between are also made to accommodate each type of driver. Their recognition grew in part because of the convenient transport alternative Vespa scooters originally made in cities and nations that greatly required them to keep on expansion.

possession, now considered vintage.
Vintage Vespas are not only valuable because of likeness ; they are valuable monetarily also which is the main appeal to some collectors.

These
restoration locations where certificated because Paggio saw that each shop had a keen and familiar appreciation of mechanically working with old or vintage Vespa scooters as well as with the more moderen models. The certificated Vespa Vintage shops are where the company endorses you take your vintage scooter to ensure quality service.

through the Vespa scooter catalog you can order Vespa Vintage parts for transforming old Vespas. The parts are certificated original because they're made from the original drawings used to design the first Vespa scooters. Parts for other Vespa scooters can be bought through the Vespa catalog or from scooter parts retailers on the internet. For extraordinary recommends of Vespa scooters, new or vintage, there are Vespa clubs in some towns that help bring together those with general interests.

Online Vespa scooter sites provide a medium to contribute your thoughts or questions about Vespa scooters. sites offer all sorts of information about Vespa, for example events involving the Vespa brand of scooters, releases of the latest models and books or other publications with Vespa scooter information. Another fantastic addition that was suggested by our users was that of a section for Vespa Art whereby we display artistic Vespa photos intended to give users inspiration when restoring, rebuilding, customizing their Vespa scooter. Users submit their own Vespa photos and the best are displayed. When browsing the internet whilst researching for the re-design, we found it incredibly difficult to find all the different suppliers of the plethora of services that are needed in a restoration project, so we simply had to address it for the benefit of our users bringing everything into a single central resource. With over 1,300 Facebook fans in the space of a few months and visitor levels increasing by the day, we must be doing something right! We aim to double our current visitor levels by summer 2011 with lots of developments planned throughout the winter of 2010. Ambulances On Two Wheels To Debut At Fair

Thursday, July 1, 2010

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI - FOX2now.com) - New additions to Fair St. Louis this year could turn out to be life-savers. With perhaps the fairest "fair" weather in decades, organizers were expecting what could be largest crowds in years; perfect timing for the Fair St. Louis debut of the St. Louis Fire Department's new, two-wheeled ambulances: Vespa motor scooters packed with potentially life-saving gear.

"There's 30 floats ... we've got 11 marching bands ... we've got 8 of the giant helium balloons (like those in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade)," said Veiled Profit Parade and Fair St. Louis Spokesman, Bob Schenk.

"Then we've got hundreds and hundreds of costumed characters, could be the muny kids singing, could be clowns, could be characters on the pirate float behind us. What they really do is bring the floats to life," he said.

Two other new additions will help protect lives. City paramedics will work the parade grounds on two scooters equipped with a full range of life saving gear, from stethoscopes IV's and oxygen tanks to defribilators to re-start a stopped heart.

"It'll get a paramedic to the patient a little faster so we can intervene and possibly save the life," said paramedic, Tom Moore. "If it's a pulse-less, breathing patient, we can establish O-2, oxygen, and an IV faster."

8 paramedics will also be on bikes packed with the same gear; ready to squeeze into the crowded spaces four-wheeled ambulances can't; places people who need it most are most likely to be at events like the VP Parade and Fair St. Louis.

Moore said it sure beat the old way of doing things.

"We'd walk in with our bags and we'd walk out with a patient," he said. "That's the only way we were transporting people before, or we had a centralized first aid station people could come to. It was quite difficult...it's a big improvement from days gone by."

The return of fair events, like the popular air shows, should make the crowds thicker.

"We came up with the caption, 'The Memories Are Back' ", Schenk said, "for St. Louis and the folks who've been here in the past, whether it was specific bands that played, whether it was the air show, whether it was just kind of coming to an outdoor festival for the first time, we're really proud to be doing this for the 30th year. Folks will be really pleased with what they get."

He said don't worry about Lenor K. Sullivan Boulevard on the riverfront being under the waters of the Mississippi River right now; all fair attractions are high and dry on the archgrounds.

The scooters debuted in the St. Pat's Day parade.

So far, they've helped patients with everything from heat exhaustion to diabetes complications; even 1 case of cardiac arrest.

Vespa Scooters to re-enter India through Piaggio!

Thursday, June 10, 2010

Piaggio, the popular 3 wheeler commercial vehicles maker will bring back the Vespa scooters to the Indian soil.

Piaggio's Chairman & C. S.p.A, the Italian scooter manufacturer had joined hands for a business deal to set up a new factory in the country and there will be a launch of Vespa LX 125 model in 2012. Piaggio's new facility will have a capacity of 1,50,000 units per annum. With an estimated investment of Euro 30 million in the 2010-2011 fiscal year, the company will increase the revenue later in 2015 by euro 70 million.

Vespa had been in India since 1950, when it had the JV with Firodias. Also, the company had tie up with LML, which broke up in 1999.

Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited is manufacturing vehicles from the Baramati Plant. Piaggio plans to produce 1 L and 1.2 L diesel engines for its commercial vehicles. These will be exported to other Asian markets and also to Europe.

The main reason for companies like Piaggio eyeing on Indian auto market is that India is having a robust sales growth in vehicle sales like never before.During the 2004-2009 period, the Indian two wheeler market grew at the rate of 7% per annum, including the global recession period.

Also, among the total sales of two wheelers in India, 15% is scooter segment and surprisingly the scooter sales had made a promising 13% growth. So, its very wise for Piaggio to launch Vespa LX 125 cc in India sooner!
